Canadian postal code validator
Type a postal code to check its format, region and whether it is a rural code. Runs in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.
How Canadian postal codes work
The first three characters are the forward sortation area (FSA). Its first letter identifies the province, territory or major region; a 0 in second place marks a rural area. The last three characters are the local delivery unit.
A valid format does not guarantee the code is in service. Confirm specific addresses with Canada Post's postal code lookup.
Next: format the full address or estimate transit time.
